CBD affects the body by how it interacts with the endocannabinoid system. The endocannabinoid system is a vital system in the body, similar to the nervous or circulatory system. The endocannabinoid system, in concert with other bodily functions and systems, is responsible for homeostasis within the body, which is a factor of sustained good health. The body creates endocannabinoids to help manage a wide range of functions including appetite, sleep, mood, memory, reproduction, and fertility. Endocannabinoids bind to receptors throughout the body, which signals response functions that help keep the body’s internal functions running smoothly and maintaining homeostasis.
The cannabinoids (CBD is a cannabinoid) in the cannabis plant interact with the endocannabinoid system receptors similarly to the body’s naturally produced cannabinoids, ‘talking to’ the brain, central nervous system, and cells associated with the immune system and skin. When CBD is used properly, it acts as an aid to activate and support the endocannabinoid system in balancing and regulating the body. It’s simply the active compounds in the cannabis plant, or CBD, and body working in harmony.
Since every person’s body is different there is no ‘one size fits all’. Understanding the endocannabinoid system and receptors and the relationship CBD has with them will determine the best way to incorporate CBD into daily life.

Just about anything-- water, juice, coffee, tea, carbonated beverages, flavored drinks or your favorite foods like pizza, pasta, cookies, and cakes.
Cooking your food with CBD is easy and you can just as easily reap the benefits such as fast absorption into the body. Some might even claim it tastes better. Simply mix with water, juice, coffee, tea, carbonated beverages, flavored drinks or your favorite foods like pizza, pasta, cookies and cakes. A few tips to keep in mind:
1. Small Amounts – You don’t need a lot of CBD oil; use only the amount you would normally consume directly from the bottle
2. Use other Cooking Oils – The benefits of CBD happen best when used with other oils such as Coconut Oil, as coconut oil serves as an excellent carrier to enhance the absorption of CBD into the body.
3. Never heat up CBD – You can add CBD to the recipe, but do not heat up the oil on a stove or place under high temperatures

In 2018, Congress legalized hemp by passing the most recent version of the Farm Bill. While they made clear in the bill that hemp with 0.3% THC or below is legal, they said little about legal ways to use it. This simple exclusion has been giving the FDA fits since the Farm Bill passed. Why? The simplified answer is that before the Farm Bill, hemp used to be illegal and there was only a narrow exception for hemp research and distribution based around pharmaceutic products. Consequently, CBD was able to be approved by the FDA as an active ingredient in prescription drugs, and they did just that with a drug called Epidiolex. Once the Farm Bill was approved, everyone wanted to up CBD in everything, especially comestibles, and just like the FDA wouldn’t allow any other prescription drug into a food or vitamin sold over the counter, they aren’t allowing CBD either.
Regardless of this stance, CBD consumable products are all over the marketplace. The FDA has been turning what is effectively a blind eye as long as producers and retailers are not marketing the products in a way that is harmful to the consumer. Meanwhile, they are dragging their proverbial feet on making regulations, industry groups and members of Congress pressure them to do so. States are therefore left to come up with their own regulations, and companies are just holding themselves accountable, which is why you should always buy your CBD from a reputable source.
